The health and safety of our shrimp is always our top priority. Shipping live animals requires extra care, and every order is thoughtfully packed and scheduled to minimize stress and maximize survival. From monitoring weather conditions to choosing the right shipping method, every decision we make is centered around getting your shrimp to you safely.
Shipping Schedule
To avoid weekend delays and unnecessary time in transit, all orders are shipped Monday through Wednesday only.
Orders placed later in the week will be scheduled for shipment the following Monday or Tuesday. This helps ensure your shrimp are never stuck in a carrier facility over the weekend.
Weather & Temperature Considerations
Shrimp are highly sensitive to temperature changes, so we carefully monitor weather conditions at both our location and your delivery address before shipping. Shipping may be delayed if conditions are unsafe — this is always done to protect your shrimp.
❄️Winter Shipping
- Heat packs are used when temperatures are between 20°F–31°F
- If temperatures are 19°F or below, orders will be held until conditions improve
- Insulated packaging is always used during cold weather
🔥Summer Shipping
- Ice packs are used when temperatures are between 90°F–105°F
- If temperatures reach 105°F or higher, orders will be held until it is safe to ship
- Insulated packaging is always used during hot weather
Extreme temperatures can be dangerous for live shrimp, even with added protection. Holding orders during unsafe conditions helps prevent losses and ensures the best possible outcome.
Shipping Methods
We select shipping methods based on weather conditions and transit safety:
- USPS – Used for standard shipping under normal, safe weather conditions
- UPS Next Day Air or FedEx Overnight – Used during more extreme weather conditions or when faster transit is necessary to protect the shrimp
The chosen carrier and service level are always selected with shrimp safety in mind.
Packaging & What’s Included
Every order is carefully packed using professional live-animal shipping methods and includes:
- Insulated shipping box
- Heat pack or ice pack (when needed based on temperature)
- Breather bags for optimal oxygen exchange
- Netting inside the bag for shrimp to safely hold onto during transit
- A care card with recommended water parameters
- A quick acclimation guide
- A drip acclimation kit to help ensure a smooth transition into your aquarium
Everything included is designed to give your shrimp the best possible start in their new home.
Live Arrival Guarantee (DOA Policy)
We proudly offer a Live Arrival Guarantee as long as the following steps are followed:
📨Step 1: Prompt Documentation
- Clear photos of any DOA shrimp must be submitted within 2 hours of the first delivery attempt
- Photos must be taken in the original, unopened bag
📦Step 2: Proper Handling Upon Arrival
- DOA claims may be void if the package is left outdoors in extreme temperatures
- Claims may also be void if the package is not picked up promptly from the post office or carrier facility after delivery notice
This policy allows us to fairly and quickly resolve issues while ensuring shrimp are handled responsibly upon arrival.

Shipping live shrimp requires a bit of preparation. Before placing your order, please consider the following:

Be mindful of:
- Extreme heat or cold in your area
- Known mail delays or weather events
- Whether your delivery location is secure from temperature exposure
⏳Prepare for Arrival
To ensure success:
- Be home on delivery day whenever possible
- Make arrangements to pick up the package promptly if held at the post office
- Have your aquarium fully cycled and ready
- Review the acclimation instructions before delivery
