DOA Policy
DOA (Dead on Arrival) Policy – Live Aquarium Shrimp
We work hard to ensure every order of live aquarium shrimp is packed carefully and shipped in the best possible conditions. While the vast majority of shrimp arrive healthy and active, shipping live animals does carry some risk. This policy is here to make sure things are handled fairly if an issue occurs.
✅What Counts as DOA
A shrimp is considered DOA (Dead on Arrival) if it arrives deceased inside the sealed shipping bag upon delivery. Only Applicable for Shrimp within purchase amount. (We send extra Shrimp in every order to make up for any possible misfortune that may occur.)
🛑If You Experience a DOA
If any shrimp arrive DOA, please contact us as soon as possible so we can make it right. To help us assist you quickly, we ask for the following:
- Clear photos or a short video of the shrimp inside the unopened shipping bag
- Documentation sent within 2 hours of the first delivery attempt
- At least one photo showing the shipping label and packaging
Please do not remove the shrimp from the bag before taking photos, as this helps us verify the issue. Once photos are taken, it is safe to begin the acclimation process with the remaining shrimp then taking out the "DOA" ASAP.
📝Resolution Options
Once your DOA claim is approved, we will gladly offer one of the following:
- Store credit
- A refund for the cost of the shrimp
Shipping costs are not refundable. Replacement shrimp are subject to availability and safe shipping conditions.
📦Shipping & Weather Considerations
We are not able to guarantee live arrival if delays occur due to carrier issues, incorrect addresses, or missed delivery attempts. For extreme weather conditions, we may recommend holding or delaying shipment to protect your shrimp. Choosing to ship against these recommendations may void DOA coverage.

🧪Acclimation & Tank Conditions
Please ensure your aquarium is fully cycled and stable before your shrimp arrive. Losses related to acclimation, tank conditions, or water parameters are not covered under DOA. We strongly recommend drip acclimation and stable parameters for the best success.
